Users conducting Stacks transactions in Leather are able to configure the nonce associated with their transaction.
A nonce is a sequential ID number that helps determine the order of transaction processing by miners. They must always occur sequentially (eg. a transaction with nonce 8 will not be confirmed until a transaction with nonce 7 has been processed).
Leather automatically assigns the correct nonce to ensure that each nonce is only used once per address. However, there may be circumstances when a user needs to edit the nonce for a transaction (such as overriding a previous transaction).
How to Edit Nonces in Leather
To edit a nonce in Leather when conducting a Stacks transaction:
Click the “Edit nonce” option located on the bottom right of your transaction detail screen
Enter your preferred nonce and hit “Apply”
If you’d like to check the nonce for a specific transaction, you can do so by visiting the Stacks Explorer.
